Heat Guide

I write open-door contemporary romance with heat levels that range from medium to high, with most books landing in the medium-high sweet spot.
The intimacy in my books is never there just to raise the temperature—it deepens connection, reveals vulnerability, and moves the love story forward. Some stories are more selective with their heat, while others are hotter, bolder, and more adventurous on the page. Either way, the emotional core always matters as much as the chemistry.

How I Think About Heat

Because heat is subjective, I use a few different markers to help readers get a feel for what to expect:

Burn = how quickly the romance and sexual payoff build
Heat = the overall erotic intensity of the story
Flames = my visual shorthand for heat level

Burn Pace

Slow burn means the relationship takes its time, even when the desire is there early. In these books, expect the first real heat to be about the mid-point or shortly after.
Mid-burn means the attraction escalates sooner, with earlier payoff and a quicker move from tension to intimacy.
Fast burn means the chemistry ignites early and the heat arrives quickly, even as the emotional layers continue to deepen.

Heat Levels

3 Flames — Medium Heat
Open-door and explicit, with multiple on-page intimate scenes and a more selective heat level.
4 Flames — Medium-High Heat
Explicit and strongly heat-forward, with multiple scenes, stronger tension, and a more sustained erotic presence.
5 Flames — High Heat
My hottest books—explicit, plentiful, and more adventurous, with heat that plays a major role in the reading experience.

A Note on Content

Some of my books include light kink, BDSM elements, soft D/s dynamics, or sex that goes a little outside the box—but always in emotionally grounded, consensual relationships. Enthusiastic consent is a constant in my work.

Content Advisories

The two series from Totally Bound—Bristol Park and Logan County Love—do not include on-page content advisories.
All of my other books include a basic on-page note with a link to my current titles page, where readers can find content advisories for each book.
